It has been a decade! Well, to be exact, 9 years, since the community at St. Vincent’s Seminary said goodbye to a Provincial. Today, under beautiful skies, we held an outdoor barbecue in honor of Fr. Make Carroll and his two terms totaling 9 years of service as Provincial.
We gathered at noon and after all had their fill, there was a simple “ceremony”. Local Superior, Fr. Greg Cozzubbo, did the honors thanking Fr. Carroll. In his turn Fr. Carroll thanked all present. It was clear he took great delight in the presence of his successor, Fr. Steve Grozio. In a way, it marked the beginning for him of a transition to a long-awaited summer at Cape May.
Fr. Grozio took up residence June 1 after winding up his five years of service to the Hispanic community in the Southampton area at the tip of Long Island.
The formal transition will take place during a Eucharist to be celebrated on Wednesday, June 7th at 11 AM. Fr. Grozio will preside at his first Eucharist as Provincial. Of course, we all wish them well and commit them to our prayers.
Enjoy the attached informal snapshots taken by Liz Wilson, Administrative Assistant to the local Superior.
Thanks, Mike, for your years of service! See you at the Cape! ¡Buena suerte, Steve, y que Dios te colme de bendiciones!
