More Young People Are Moving Away From Religion, But Why? This is the question posed by a recent special on NPR One-fifth of Americans are religiously unaffiliated, and those younger than 30 especially seem to be drifting from organized religion.
Regardless of the answers offered in this TV special, the question is something members of the Eastern Province must face especially in this Year of Faith and Evangelization.

The more we can keep united an authentic spirituality to the service of the poor, the more we will attract people. We may have to rethink our freedom of dress, and we may need to be a little more structured in our life of prayer, but these are secondary issues compared to our commitment to the least as an expression of Jesus’ commitment to us and to all forgotten and marginalized people.
