At its March Trustees’ meeting, board members unanimously approved the awarding of the LL.D. degree, an honorary doctorate in laws, to Bernie Tracey.  In presenting Bernie’s  recommendation to the Board, Jimmy Maher identified a number of areas that made Bernie’s candidacy obvious including but not limited to:

• Outstanding professional achievement and success.
• Advocacy and exemplification of values central to the University.
• Promulgation of the University’s Vincentian mission, as evidenced in concern for as well as service to the poor.
• Leadership within the Catholic Church.

Niagara University will confer the Doctor of Laws on Bernie at its Commencement 2015 exercises:  http://www.niagara.edu/commencement/.
