On June 12-13, 1816, thirteen, brave missionaries Including Vincentians – DeAndreis and Rosati boarded the American ship called The Ranger and began their journey to America.
Before boarding the ship, they made one last break with their pasts. They laid aside their cassocks and donned the black suits, ties, and round hats that were characteristic of the American Clergy.
Thank you,Father John Freund,C.M.,for your beautifully detailed and most thorough presentation, “Two Hundred Years Ago Today”. It was 5 A.M. on this Fourth Sunday After Pentecost, when I viewed the photos and browsed the readings and comments. I did so with thanks to God,to you,and to your Confreres that I journeyed, many years ago, with you and some of your Confreres.
Kudos, good friend! Keep up your beautiful Vincentian work for God’s glory and service of His people.
With best regards..
