Father Mike Carroll writes of the major celebration of the 20oth anniversary of the arrival of Vincentians in the United States…
Here in Germantown, we are all getting ready for the celebration on Saturday marking the arrival of the confreres 200 years ago.
There are about 190 people who will be joining us to welcome DeAndreis, Rosati and company. The guests for this celebration are the confreres from across the USA and the Daughters of Charity. They will be joined by representatives of the Vincentian Family as well as affiliates of the community. We have the President of St. John’s University and his wife, the first lay Chair of the Board from Niagara, as well as folks who serve on Provincial Committees, and Administrators from CAMM.
All of the ministries were given invitations to include people, who work with us as Vincentians, to our gathering. Parishioners from Charlotte, Southampton, Emmitsburg, and St. Vincent’s in Germantown will be attending.
Our seminarians from Theology, Internal Seminary, and Philosophy will also be with us and also help us during the day.
Of course Bishop O’Connell, Bishop Cabezas, and the Provincials of the West, Ray Van Dorpe, accompanied by Kevin McCracken, and New England, Rafal Kopystynski and his successor, Grzegorze Marek Sadowski.
I think the day will be a grand marker for the event we so gratefully celebrate. You will be remembered in a special way.
I know all the works are marking the 200 years in their own ways. Please share this with us.
Fraternally,
Michael Carroll, CM

Dear Fathers,Brothers,and Sisters,
As I write this,I pray for our Lord to bless each one of you in the spirit of Jesus Christ Himself and in Saint Vincent’s unique expression of love. May your openness become God’s sacramental of your service to poor folks, people impoverished by many phenomena encountered in our beautiful human condition tainted by sin.
May you feel God’s presence,His Peace and His richest blessings, always!
Faithfully and Gratefully,
Ed Ambrose
