RE: Jubilee of the 400 Years of Vincentian Charism
Date: May 23, 2017 (Note: Date probably should have been January 23, 2017)
Cordial fraternal greetings of joy, commitment and love as we begin this jubilee year of the Vincentian charism, from January 1st through December 31, 2017, in the theme of “I was a stranger and you welcomed me”.
For this reason, we would like to invite you to collaborate in the activities of the Congregation of the Mission with local, personal, and parish events in each branch of the Vincentian Family and wherever we are collaborating with teams of Brothers/Sisters and Friends.
We invite every house in the Region to dedicate a prayer gathering on January 25th, including the local Vincentian Family, to encourage Renewal in the spirit of serving the Poor.
Recently, during meetings with the regional Vincentian Family in Chiriqui, we agreed to dedicate one event in commemoration of the Feast of the 400 Years in every chapel dedicated to St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac.
We will follow the dates on the Vincentian Family’s calendar.
- On January 24th, we invite all of the Vincentian Family to St. Vincent de Paul Chapel in Bugaba at 9 a.m. Every branch or group will bring something for refreshment.
- We will continue this at other St. Vincent, and St. Louise, chapels in places where our missionary teams in Concepcion and Puerto Armuelles are located, as well as the headquarters of the Vincentian branches in Chiriqui.
- In September, we will have a celebration at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in the Community of Soloy.
I encourage confreres to promote the activities they have planned in each of the Provinces of Panama and Colon, in conjunction with the Vincentian Family, to create an annual Jubilee Calendar for our 400 Years of Vincentian Charism.
Also, be creative with the acts of penance in every house and in accompanying the Vincentian branches.
Thank you.
Attentively,
Fr. Teodoro Justavino, C.M.
